Caversham Wildlife Park

This fun packed full day trip departs from Perth with pickups between 8.15am and 9.00am, with the first stop being Caversham Wildlife Park where Explorers get to feed Kangaroos and get up close to Koalas. You will also get to see a wide range of other animals, birds, and marsupials that are native to Australia. After an hour or so spent with these amazing Australian icons, we jump back on the Explorer bus and take a short drive to the beautiful Swan Valley.

Swan Valley Vineyard

The Swan Valley is well known for a wide range of internationally acclaimed vineyards, restaurants, cafes, and art galleries. On this tour, you will get a chance to visit one of the newest and best vineyards/breweries in the region and enjoy a lovely lunch with a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Explorers choose their meal from a menu which is Muslim-friendly (Pork is prepared in the same kitchen).

Amazing Pinnacles

After lunch we take a drive up the Indian Ocean Road to the Nambung National Park for a close look at the Pinnacles. The park itself covers an area of 17,487 hectares and provides a natural habitat for an extensive range of animals and bird life. Luckily for us, there is a modern discovery center which houses fascinating interpretative displays with details of the Pinnacles themselves as well as the flora and fauna of the park. Aboard the Explorer Bus, we will see the Pinnacles on a scenic drive through the park before setting off on foot for an easy paced walk through this eerie yet fascinating landscape, at which point you can take photos up close to the Pinnacles.

Sand Boarding down Sand Dunes

Back aboard the Explorer Bus we head south for an hour to finish off the day at the adventure-filled town of Lancelin. Here you can admire the extensive Lancelin sand dunes and for the more adventurous explorers perhaps try out Sandboarding using the sand boards provided (think Snowboarding but replace the snow with sand).

The Explorer Bus returns us back to Perth at around 7.30pm having experienced some of the best activities that the region has to offer.

Such a great day out! I didn’t expect to have as much fun as I did. We got picked up around 7:30AM and finished up at 7:45PM. It was a full jam packed itinerary and i wouldn’t have skipped any of it.

Caversham Wildlife Park was fantastic – we got quite up close with a lot of different animals which made the visit feel unique. I’m from Melbourne Australia and yet I was still very much impressed with the Australian wildlife we got to see and get up close and personal with.

The surprise chocolate visit was fun and delicious. Lunch at the vineyard was very tasty and a great chance to get to know the other people on the tour. Sandboarding was extremely fun and safe. My friend said she would only go up the dunes to sandboard once but had so much fun she went back and forth quite a few times!

The pinnacles were an amazing sight and a nice way to wind down for the day.

But what made the trip so amazing was definitely our guide / chief explorer – Sue. She was so energetic, informative and fun. She really kept our energy levels up with her enthusiasm and passion for what she does. Her commentary as we were driving from location to location was very interesting and light-hearted. It’s hard to put into words the positive energy she was radiating.

Overall, highly recommended tour and tour guide / chief explorer!
TripAdvisor Review – July 2019

This is an all packed itineraries and covers the best of Perth in one day. Perfect pace, not too long of a drive and we get to see lots of places. Perfect for families and save a hassle of driving out. Totally recommend the small van rather than big bus as it can go deep into the middle of Pinnacle dessert. There are lots of options for lunch and the portion was huge, we had it in one of the biggest wineries in Swan Valley. I never see so many kangaroos and their joeys in the mommy’s pouches, so friendly you can pet and hand feed them.

TripAdvisor Review – January 2019

This was my first visit to Australia, a big place with lots of great things to see, and only a few days to work with. The tour offered an outstanding and diverse combination of experiences (so I didn’t have to choose between them) and not only delivered on everything in the brochure, it actually exceeded my expectations in every way. I am thrilled with my choice. Our guide was Martin, a knowledgeable and outgoing person who knew when to talk as well as when to be silent. His attention to the interests of our group of 10 was most appreciated and he seemed to know what kinds of things to “add to the mix” that moved us from mere passengers in his van to a community with shared interests for the day. Martin had a wonderful sense of humor, outgoing personality, and was quick to make sure that each of us got the kind of experience that we were looking for, including making sure that we had the takeaway photos of our experience (without having to resort to smart phone selfies). I cant imagine how this day could have worked out better. The lunch was delightful, the commentary perfect, and the schedule was right on target from our pick up at the hotel to the time we were finally dropped off at our point of origin. It was well worth the price and provided a superb overview of this beautiful region. Thank you Martin and thanks to the company that put together this excellent collection of experiences.
