Penguin Island

Following pickup from Central Perth, you travel south to Penguin Island, which lies within the wildlife sanctuary zone of the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. Penguin Island is a unique nature reserve that is home to Western Australia’s largest colony of little penguins* – the smallest species of penguin in the world. These Penguins can be hard to spot in the wild so we visit the Discovery Centre on the island to see them. Penguin Island is blessed with beautiful beaches and is surrounded by dazzling, crystal clear waters.

We board the ferry from Mersey Point Jetty for the shot five-minute journey to Penguin Island. Then we make our way to the Discovery Centre to learn all about the Island’s most famous residents – the Little Penguins. The penguin feedings are presented by one of the rangers and last about 20 mins. (During June to September the Discovery Centre is closed so the Penguin feeding takes place at Caversham Wildlife Park in the afternoon).

We spend some time exploring the Island whilst looking out for Penguins, Pelicans and a wide variety of other Australian wildlife.* Next, we board a Glass Bottom boat for a 45-minute glass bottom boat cruise to view rare Australian Sea-Lions, Pelicans and great views of the Islands.* As we drift over the seagrass meadows and limestone reefs look out for fish, crabs and other marine life through the glass bottom.

Lunch at Pengos
Lunch is served back on the mainland at the wonderful Pengo’s cafe where you have the choice of a fine selection of hot and cold food with a drink.

Caversham Wildlife Park

After lunch you jump back in our Explorer bus and head toward the Swan Valley and Whiteman Park. Watch out for wild Kangaroos as we drive into the Conservation reserve. Located in Whiteman Park, Caversham Wildlife Park is Perth’s premier wildlife experience and a must-see on any visit to Perth.

In Caversham Wildlife Park you will be given a tour to see all of the amazing native Australian Wildlife. You can hand-feed the kangaroos, join in the interactive farm show, touch a possum or lizard, meet a wombat, and have photos taken with koalas!

Enjoy the Farm Show at Caversham Wildlife Park where you will see Sheep shearing, Whip cracking, Cow milking, Lamb feeding, Billy swinging and watch sheepdogs mustering the sheep

To finish off the day we have one more special treat, a visit to a Chocolate factory for free tastings before heading back to Perth.

We greatly enjoy it! Very relaxing and awesome sceneries at the Penguin island. After a tour around the island, we headed out to the sea again on a glass bottom cruise to view the sea lions.

Yes. Lunch, including a drink, was included in the package. The tour guide was very helpful in providing a menu for selection before heading to penguin island; so, the food were ready and served the moment we landed on shore from the island.

Headed to Caversham wildlife for lunch for a prioritize visit to around. An exclusive area to take photos with koala and feed the kangaroos.

The tour ended at a visit to swan valley for the chocolates, etc. Overall, an awesome and experiencing trip it was! Thanks for the professional communication in WhatsApp-ing us and keeping us updated on the time we would be picked up. The tour guides were very experienced and informative too!

Must-to-do tour for tourist with kids !!! My kid enjoyed a lot !! Viewing dolphin and sea lion in open nature is an exciting feeling..but make one thing sure..check whether it is allowed to go on Penguin Island..there was some problem at my time ..hence couldnt able to land on island..but the boat took us on ride for dolphin and sea lion spotting..lunch was really good..but then the best part…Caversham Park with kangaroos, coalas and wombats..We got opportunity to click photo with coala, snake and wombat..feed kangaroos..watch feeding of pelican and penguin..the farm show was excellent too..special thanks to our tour guide…she took us to place not in list to feed Emu..they are huge and giant birds…overall awesome tour…highly recommended…
